It is important that we understand we only have one planet to live on. If we destroy the planet, we destroy ourselves. If we put the planet in a condition that the Earth cannot repair itself, if we set the destruction in motion, there will not be time to change the outcome.

Each of us has the opportunity to help the planet in small, simple ways. Every little bit helps. When I use to do a lot of backpacking there was a saying, "take care of the ounces and the pounds will take care of themselves." Simply put, when you cut out small weights, they will add up and you will be saving pounds in the end. It will make your pack much lighter. When we do small things to help the planet, it will add up to make a bigger impact than you may realize if more people take care of the "ounces."

If you have a suggestion to help save the Earth, let us know.

Don't use the drive up window. Park the car and walk inside. Besides, the extra few steps of walking will be better for you then sitting in a car.

Turn off the lights in the house that you are not using.

Inflate your tires to the correct pressure I used to ride my bike with a cycling club. Before every ride everyone would be checking their tire pressure. The pumps would be out and everyone would be filling their tires to the proper pressure. Riding a bike with tires that are inflated properly made riding the bikes much easier. To ride your bide with under inflated tires would takes a lot more energy and work.

We may not realize it because we are not supplying the physical power ourselves but by our vehicles are having to do a lot more work when the tires are under inflated. That means it take more fuel to run our vehicles and that means it is more money out of our pocket books.

Recycle, Recycle, Recycle.
Recycle cell phones. There are several organizations that recycle cell phones. I have taken ours to Sprint. I have seen a sign up at the Houston Zoo requesting old phones. The money will go to help the zoo. For those of you who don't know, the Houston Zoo is dedicated to helping preserve endangered species.
