If The Earth...
If the Earth were only a few meters in diameter, floating a few meters above a field somewhere, people would come from everywhere to marvel at it. People would walk around it, marveling at its big pools of water, its little pools, and the water flowing between the pools. People would marvel at the bumps on it and the holes in it, and they would marvel at the very thin layer of gas surrounding it and the water suspended in the gas. The people would marvel at all the creatures walking around the surface of the ball and at the creatures in the water.
The people would declare it as sacred because it was the only one, and they would protect it so that it would not be hurt. The ball would be the greatest wonder known, and people would come to pray to it, to be healed, to gain knowledge, to know beauty, and to wonder how it could be. People would love it and defend it with their lives because they would somehow know that their lives would be nothing without it.

We Are Co-Creators
We are Co-Creators of our world. One of my beliefs is that we are part of the Creator. In that sense, we are all Co-Creators. In our day if we choose to help others, be kind, friendly and courteous, then we create a better world. If we choose to act in a selfish way, steal others energy, or just plain "be a jerk," we create a more negative world. Think of your creation today. Are you adding to the world in a positive way or negative way?

It will be your choice today in the world that you create. Choose wisely

  The Simple Truth
Most religions have gotten away from what I call "the simple truth." I was raised a Catholic. I can remember at an early age I had conflicts with some of the teachings of the Catholic Church. It violated the "simple truth"  to my way of thinking.

The "simple truth" is that the Creator is both full of Love and is Just. If that is true, the concept of "original sin" can not be.  How could one look at a child and believe they are not the Creator's gift.  If we as humans should not hold what a parent does or did against the child, why would the Creator, who is more just and full of love, do so.  It doesn't make sense.  It violates a simple truth.

After all, we are supposed to be made in the image and likeness of the Creator.  If we should not hold things against a child, how can the Creator?
Most religions of the world have continued to add on to their doctrines to defend or explain an earlier position. In the end, they continue to complicate the simple truth and therefore get farther and farther away from it.

To love and respect each other is a simple truth. To have love and respect for our world is a simple truth. That we are all infinitely all connected is a simple truth.

ON FEAR AND FAITH
Our greatest quest in life is to overcome fear. Fear comes in many forms to many people. Each of us has our own fears to face. One person's fear may be of getting into a relationship, another's may be getting out of a relationship. Some of us fear speaking the truth because of our fear of how it may be received.

There is a more pervasive fear that controls us and that is fear of life. Fear of the future. Where does faith come into the picture?  Fear and faith cannot exist in full measure with each other. When I let fear control my life I have no faith in what the future holds. I have no faith that things will be OK and that life will go on. On the other side, if I have faith my fear will leave me because I trust that my life will be OK and that I will survive, learn and live.

When you are faced with a choice in your life, is your decision based on fear or faith?

Reincarnation Makes Sense
I am in the field of helping people. One of the issues that comes up is to forgive other people. There is also the concept of no matter what you have done in your life, there is still a chance to change. The goal is to become a "better human being" (however you interpret that). We are always in the process of becoming, never having completely arrived.

If we as human beings can give others another chance and forgive them, if we as human beings can change in our lifetime, then why would I not believe that the Creator would have the same capacity. Imagine if you would, that the Creator does not want us to fail. Failure serves no purpose. The Creator wants us to succeed. If we don't get it "right" in this life time then we will have another chance.

People say that reincarnation means we don't have to worry about how we live our life.  On the contrary, it means that if we know we are here to learn a soul lessen, than we are more responsible to make this life count.  We must choose how to live in this life. We are not given anything except the capacity to change and make our own choices. We must do it on our own merit. It makes sense that the Creator wants us to be with him/her and will give us the opportunities to do so. Many if we need it.

Honoring Another's Persons Truth
One of the most difficult areas of my life is that of honoring another person's truth. I do a exercise where I define culture beyond race/ethnicity.  I include other descriptors - age, where someone grew up, rich, poor, male, female, the list can go on. In the exercise people walk across the room and share three things; What things or names don't you want others to say about your group?  What qualities or things does your group have to offer?  And what do you want or need from others not in your group?

It is an exercise that brings up many emotions for the participants. Some of the strongest urges seems to be the need to talk and explain, or to refute what another person is saying, to provide a counterpoint. It seems so hard for people to honor another persons truth.  It seems that if they have their truth and it is different then ours, someone has to be wrong.  Most of the time, we have a need to have people see it our way, as if our way is the right and only truth.

I read a book titled "The Mutant Message" and there is a part in the book where the Aborigines come across a grave marked by a cross. The cross is in disrepair. They stop and fix the cross, rebuild the stones on the grave and then proceed on their journey. The author asks them why they did so, wondering if the place had special meaning to them. Their reply was that although they did not follow that ways of that person, they recognized that was a sacred place for them and so they chose to honor it. The honor was not so much that it was their sacred place but that it was a sacred place for someone else so thus deserved the respect that a sacred place deserves.

How different that is from most of us who put down other religions. Would we help fix another religions sacred place. We tend to judge and believe that our religion is better than another's. We work at converting others. Quite often we preach acceptance and love, but generally do something else.

We believe that ours is the truth, that others do not see as clearly as we do. There is only 'ONE TRUTH" ours. The next time someone tells you their truth, can you honor it?
