Reiki comes from the Japanese word "Rei" which means universal and "Ki" which means life force. Or more precisely it is the universal higher consciousness of the life force within us.

Reiki is the gift from the Creator. It can be used to help heal on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual It can never be used for negative means. Simple Fact Sheet About Reiki

What is Reiki? Reiki is a Japanese form of relaxation, stress management and healing. AReiki means universal, Ki means life force. Reiki is the universal life force. It is a gift from the Divine Creator.

Who determines where the energy goes? Your body/spirit will know what needs healing. Healing can take place on a physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual level. Due to the concept of "for the greater good," what you want to have happen or experience my not be what you receive. We are not always attuned to our higher self. The Reiki practitioner does not determine where the energy goes. The Reiki practitioner only acts as a conduit for the energy. One may sense, see, or feel where the energy is going or they may experience nothing. In either case, Reiki is taking place.

What will I experience during a Reiki session? Many people see colors, images, scenes from the past, scenes from another place or reality. I tell people to just let them flow. Various sensations are part of most sessions. Common feelings during a Reiki Session: feeling of warmth; feeling of coolness; intensification of discomfort before a release; crying; feeling/sense of well being; relaxation; yawning or getting sleepy; some people do fall asleep; spontaneous body movements such as jerks or hand movements, muscle twitches; the need to go to the bathroom; being in another world. Some people feel or see nothing. What ever happens, it is right for you.

Will I be touched? Most Reiki sessions involve touch. Care is taken to respect a persons dignity when doing Reiki. If you prefer not to be touched, let the practitioner know if advance. It will not effect the quality of the healing that you will receive.

Before starting Reiki, let the practitioner know if you have any concerns, health problems or other problems. Once on the table, the Reiki practitioner will say a prayer of intent asking for guidance and help from various spiritual guides. The request is for healing to take place for the greatest good and with the purest intent. The Reiki practitioner may hold your hand during this time or say the prayer in silence. Drink plenty of water before and after to aide in the flow of energy through your body.

How do I know if I have the gift of Reiki? Everyone is capable of doing Reiki. Everyone can become a chanel for the healing powers of the Divine Source.

What is required is that you go through an attunement process from a Reiki Master. Full body Reiki Sessions are genrally priced at $50. However, we do offer a sliding scale for those who cannot afford that.

There are three levels to Reiki, Reiki I, Reiki II and Reiki III.

Terry and I are both Reiki Level III, Reiki Masters. To be able to practice Reiki one must be attuned by a Reiki Master.
